Veterinary Services

Great Neck Veterinarian Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of a bi-annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to provide for your pet's complete health care needs, including those to promote the general well-being of your pet, along with diagnostic and therapeutic services to address their medical needs.

Internal Medicine, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services

When your pet is ill, you want to make sure your pet has access to advanced diagnostic and therapeutic treatment. These services are available through Central Veterinary Associates network of clinics and our Valley Stream hospital and emergency facility. Some of these services include Ultrasonography. Our state of the art ultrasound machine is operated by a skilled veterinarian who uses the equipment to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions affecting your pet's internal organs. Radiology is also used in diagnosing problems with internal organs, as well as in revealing fractures, arthritic conditions and problems with your pet's spine. Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. All of our radiographs are read by board certified radiologist. Central Veterinary Associates provides Electrocardiography (ECG) services on site, along with consultations with cardiology specialists. We also perform Endoscopy services for cases that require visual inspection and biopsy of the esophagus, stomach, nasal passages, trachea, colon, and other organs.

To help ensure the best possible care and the benefit of second opinions, Central Veterinary Associates offer Telemedicine referrals to an internal medicine specialist, Jonny Hoskins, DACVIM, who helps us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.

All pets in our boarding facility must be current on their Rabies and Bordatella vaccines, as well as have a current Heartworm test and fecal. Dogs require 7-1, Bd, Rabies, Flu, HWT, and Fecal. Cats require 4-1, Bd, Rabies, HWT, and Fecal.

Since our boarding facility is located in our main hospital, you'll have the comfort of knowing that a veterinarian makes regular rounds of our boarding facility and that we can also administer medications to your pet during their stay. This is especially important for those looking to board older pets with medical conditions. Routine and therapeutic bathing services are also available.
